General Accountant

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking a General Accountant.

Reporting to our VP of Finance, this position plays a key partnership role with the operations team at ProFusion’s manufacturing facility in Marietta, Ohio that produces extruded and calendered thermoplastic products.  The ideal candidate will work closely with all accounting and finance personnel to ensure accurate accounting.  This position could be based in either Marietta or Fairlawn, OH (Corporate Office).  Periodic travel between our two locations is expected.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform daily cash funding and analysis of cash accounts, in addition to monthly cash entries and reconciliation.
  • Prepare weekly flash reporting of key data from prior week.
  • Prepare deliverables for the annual financials statement audit, bank audits and inventory appraisals.
  • Work with tax consultants on income tax provision and returns.
  • Assist with pension and hourly 401k audits and filing of 5500’s for pension, hourly 401k, salary 401k, and health & welfare plans.
  • Prepare and file quarterly CAT, USE, and sales tax returns.
  • Assist in the evaluation of financial and information systems and management procedures to ensure records are accurate and in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Assist with month-end close responsibilities including preparing and booking entries, performing account reconciliations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to travel on a recurring schedule between Marietta and Fairlawn, Ohio.

Manager, Lean Process & Performance Improvement

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking a Manager, Lean Process & Performance Improvement at its Marietta, Ohio manufacturing facility.

The Manager, Lean Process & Performance Improvement is responsible for providing leadership and direction for continuous improvement activities to attain cost, quality and efficiency goals.  Likewise, this position is responsible for improving the productivity of the Company’s employees by assessing the development needs of the organization and driving training initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Develops targeted opportunities to support the company’s business objectives, create action plans, and monitor progress to ensure expected results.
  • Leads staff to achieve the stated project deliverables and objectives with cross functional improvement teams.  Drives culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices, the use of Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Implement and sustain Lean Sigma practices in all business areas to enhance the company’s commitment to being customer centric.
  • Identifies and eliminates or mitigates major cost of poor quality processes.  Reduces defects with the goal of becoming defect-free.
  • Continuously improves company’s organizational capabilities to achieve process quality as part of project execution, including an awareness of the need to “do it right the first time”.
  • Supports project teams in process quality activities by educating, coaching and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools and application.
  • Trains and certifies Green Belts and leads Yellow Belt training efforts.
  • Maintains robust reporting structure to facilitate effective Lean Sigma planning and review sessions.  Identifies opportunities for improvement based upon value stream mapping, maintenance of key performance indicators and development of kaizen event plan by utilizing impact/difficulty analysis of improvement ideas.
  • Develops, implements and delivers training program and schedule for production employees.  Develops activity-based verses time-based training.
  • Increases standardization of work practices.
  • Continually evaluates training program and training procedures to monitor and analyze training effectiveness.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Ten (10) + years of operations management experience, with at least five (5) years of experience leading change initiatives in a manufacturing environment, training, OD, or process and performance improvement.
  • BS degree in Business or Engineering, and Black Belt certification.
  • Thorough understanding of broad business and manufacturing practices, as well as an understanding and application of lean principles including Kaizen, 5s, Pull Systems, Kanban, Set-Up Reduction, TPM, Value Stream Mapping and advanced implementation of problem solving techniques.

Quality Applications Engineer

ProFusion Industries, a highly regarded provider of transit step treads and transit flooring, custom specialty film products and protective linings is seeking a Quality Applications Engineer at its Marietta, Ohio manufacturing facility.

The Quality Applications Engineer position is responsible for administration of the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, corresponding internal / external audits, and other related activities.  This employee will have ongoing interaction with customers to resolve quality issues, and work directly with production supervisors and operators, analyzing manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities utilizing Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies.  This position supervises the Quality Assurance team.

Essential Functions 

  • Serves as the primary quality assurance for all issues pertaining to the quality of the product from incoming inspection of supplier’s material to the final inspection of products.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Design, document and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Serves as the primary quality assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates and supervises internal audits and related activities.
  • Travel to customer sites as required to discuss product issues.
  • Facilitates management reviews of the quality system.
  • Follows up on and closes pending preventive and corrective action requests.
  • Insures that organizational systems and training is in place.
  • Prepares organization for external ISO 9001:2015 audits.
  • Ensures that documentation and design controls are appropriate for the organization.
  • Administers document control and configuration management system.
  • Oversees established calibration and testing program.

 Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science related technical field.
  • Five (5) + years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing, should be combined with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments as a quality engineer or manager, and with satisfying customers.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, preferably in a plastics manufacturing facility.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.  Able to work in a team environment.
  • Six-sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).  If the candidate lacks current certification, must be willing to pursue.
