Technical Description
Koro-Sorb® is an oxygen scavenging copolymer concentrate used to extend the shelf life of oxygen-sensitive food products in PET packaging. It is an active barrier product that seeks to bond with O2 molecules that would otherwise pass through the walls of PET containers such as bottles, thermoformed cups, and trays.
Koro-Sorb® can be used in both monolayer and multilayer applications. Recommended usage levels differ among various applications. ProFusion can provide project support related to recommended usage level and general best practices.
Preforms containing Koro-Sorb® can be stored for 3-6 months prior to use with negligible loss of bottle barrier properties. Bottles should be filled within 30 days to ensure optimum performance.
Ease of Use
Koro-Sorb® is delivered in sealed packages with the product ready to be added directly into injection molding or extrusion applications using standard dry-additive dosing equipment. Before use, the product should be kept free from long-term exposure to room air.
